Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
The short version
CareerPath is a tool that helps you plan a career path using AI. It's useful, but it's not a substitute for professional career counseling, and we can't guarantee you'll land any specific job. Use it thoughtfully, treat other users with respect, and don't abuse the service.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using CareerPath, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. These terms may change; continued use means you accept any updates.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use CareerPath. If you're under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
3. What CareerPath provides
CareerPath generates AI-powered career roadmaps based on information you provide. This includes:
- A personalized sequence of skills, courses, projects, and milestones.
- Suggested courses and learning resources (many of which are third-party, like Coursera and Udemy).
- Related job and internship listings sourced from third-party APIs.
- Progress tracking for your personal roadmap.
4. AI-generated content (important)
Your roadmap is generated by a large language model. AI output is not perfect. It may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, or suggestions that don't perfectly fit your situation. You should treat your roadmap as one tool among many, not a guaranteed path. Always verify specific requirements (certifications, licensing, salary expectations) with authoritative sources before making major career decisions.
5. No employment guarantee
CareerPath is a planning tool. We do not guarantee that following a roadmap will result in you getting any particular job, salary, or outcome. Career outcomes depend on many factors we don't control — market conditions, individual effort, employer hiring, your actual performance in interviews, and luck.
6. Third-party content
CareerPath displays content from third parties, including job listings (via Adzuna), course recommendations (Coursera, Udemy, YouTube, etc.), and certification information. We don't control third-party content and we're not responsible for its accuracy, availability, or quality. Clicking a link takes you to the third party's site, which has its own terms.
7. Affiliate relationships
Some course links may earn us a small commission if you enroll through them. This never increases the price you pay. We surface courses based on their fit for your roadmap, not affiliate payout.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or mass-download content from CareerPath.
- Use the service to generate inappropriate, illegal, or abusive content.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer our AI prompts or game the system.
- Create multiple accounts to bypass rate limits.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent who you are.
- Interfere with the service or harm other users.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
9. Rate limits
To keep the service affordable for everyone, we limit how many roadmaps you can generate per day. Current limits are shown in the app. We may adjust these as we grow.
10. Your content
The information you enter (your target role, skills, etc.) remains yours. We store it to provide the service. By using CareerPath, you grant us permission to process this data to generate your roadmap and run the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. If we terminate the service entirely, we'll give reasonable notice when practical.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
CareerPath is provided "as is." We do our best to keep it working, but we can't guarantee uptime, accuracy, or that it will meet your specific needs. Any decisions you make based on CareerPath are yours to make.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, CareerPath and its creators are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months (which for most users, during our free beta, is zero).
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
15. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll update the "Last updated" date when we do. Continuing to use CareerPath after a change means you accept the updated terms.
